Since the beginning of July, we have had an immense increase in interest in bush walks.
Over the course of July and August, we had seventeen guided bush walks on Ingwelala, with an average of two walks per week, and a total of 74 guests on our walks. We would like to thank you for the incredible support and ongoing interest and thank all of those who have already provisionally booked walks for the coming months. Should you wish to book a bush walk, please email
Here are some highlight sightings from those bush walks:
- Tracking a leopard from fresh tracks on a game path, which led to an amazing sighting of a male leopard relaxing in the riverbed close to Timbavati Crossing
- Two Hippo sightings at Elephant Pan Hide, viewed from the southern side of the pan
- Multiple lovely Elephant and herd sightings along the riverbeds, particularly near water sources like Aloe Ridge and Elephant Pan Hide
- A sighting of five Yellow-billed Storks fighting over a large fish one had caught at Farmhouse Crossing
- Tracking a lion from the loud sound of his consistent roaring while on the walk, finding and viewing him close to Elephant Pan Hide, relaxing near the riverbed
- Countless invertebrate sightings, including Baboon Spiders, termites, ants, butterflies, various insect oothecas and more - a highlight of which was a colony of ants moving eggs around and expelling empty grass seed husks from their underground nest
